It’s always wonderful to read about gifted kids doing well! I hope that Marcela enjoys her time at university. Congratulations!
Here’s an excerpt from the article in the Edmonton Journal. I’m sure many readers of this blog can relate:
When her Grade 2 teacher told Louie to finish her math, she completed a workbook meant to last all year. That same year, Louie was sent to the hall for disrupting a science lesson.
“The unit was buoyancy in science, so I’m so excited. I raise my hand and, of course, I ask, ‘Are we going to learn about Archimedes?’ with a big smile, and the teacher gave me a stern look.”
After speaking with school officials, Louie’s parents, Howard and Roxana Louie, took their daughter for an IQ test. She scored a 145, putting her in the “very superior range of intellectual functioning,” a score equal or better than 99.9 per cent of kids her age, according to documents from the test.
